Obama Begins Address With Glimmer of Hope Amid Economic Crisis

Obama Begins Address With Glimmer of Hope Amid Economic Crisis

Dag ya'll... I'm not even anyone's mom, but I was SO happy to hear the president tell the good people that responsibility for the education of children begins at home. Yee-freakin'-haw.

I'm just going to imagine that it was written between the lines that "education" includes sex ed as well as the basics of being a human in a world with other human beings. Politeness, courtesy, kindness. (Yes, I said it: kindness, dammit!) You know how I feel about these things: More knowledge is better; people who are educated can make better choices. (Not always, of course, but it certainly helps.)

For all who wondered, I bought a laptop. I need to able to write any old time from any old place. For example, here I am, lounging on the chocolate (-colored, not  edible) loveseat, feet on my leopard print pouf, surrounded by two very soft and delicious kitties. (When I say "delicious" I refer to personalities, not actual flavors.)

Back to Barack Obama's address: That Nancy Pelosi is a standing ovation enthusiast. If she could, I bet she'd give a standing ovation to standing ovations! And it looks like a full house - I'm glad.

My takeaway quote:

"In our hands lies the ability to shape our world, for good or for ill."
